Two students from Guyra Central School, Adaiah Galindo and Eli Wood, travelled to Sydney last week to take part in a unique leadership experience at Parliament House.
Accompanied by staff from Uralla, the students joined school leaders from Walcha, Uralla and Armidale for a full day exploring the centre of NSW governance.
The visit included tours of the public galleries in both the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council, where the group observed parliamentary proceedings firsthand. A highlight of the day was a special meeting with the Governor, giving students the opportunity to discuss leadership and civic responsibility.
Adaiah and Eli completed the trip in a single day, flying to Sydney and returning the same evening, making the most of a packed schedule focused on learning and connection.
The experience provided valuable insight into government processes while also allowing students to build relationships with peers from neighbouring schools.
Guyra Central School expressed its appreciation to Uralla staff for accompanying the students and ensuring their safety and support throughout the excursion.
The opportunity is expected to leave a lasting impression on the young leaders as they continue their development.
